Proven Advantages of the INFORMŽ Cored Wire
Technology:
With installations in many countries, our group is the
world leader in cored wire technology for the production of ductile iron and C.G.
iron.
The following advantages have been experienced in comparison with other treatment
technologies.
1. Iron with sulfur levels of up to 0.09% can be treated
in a one-step operation without prior desulfurization.
2. Batch sizes from 500 lb to 40,000 lb can be treated.
3. Treatment station can be strategically located in the
foundry to be as close as possible to the pouring
station, resulting in better "fading" control.
4. Environmentally friendly because of fume control at
the treatment station.
5. Exact wire (alloy) addition, which can be fully automated
and computer controlled.
6. Close control of final magnesium, resulting in improved
reproducibility.
7. Less temperature loss.
8. No cover steel required.
9. Lower alloy addition, resulting in less slag and cleaner iron.
